James "Jim" Maroney Memorial Tuition

Dr. Maroney was a 1959 graduate of Lee College and, after earning his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees at Sam Houston State Teaching College, got his PhD from the University of Houston. Dr. Maroney returned to Lee College as a professor in 1963 and taught here until his retirement in 2008. Dr. Maroney was considered an authority on Labor Unions of the South, authored several articles, and edited the Handbook of Texas. This scholarship is designated for a student pursuing a degree in History.
