Dr. Bob & Joy Warford

Dr. Bob Warford, who moved to Baytown as a child, returned after graduating from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis and joined Texas State Optical in 1951. He became the owner of the Baytown practice in 1973 and was known for his exceptional patient care and dedication to customer service. Bob was active in the Rotary and Optimist Clubs and built a loyal patient base. His wife, Joy, originally from Memphis, was a homemaker involved in various women’s service and non-profit organizations and volunteered at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital until 2018. The couple enjoyed socializing at Goose Creek Country Club. Bob passed away in 2020, and Joy celebrated her 95th birthday in April 2024. This scholarship was created by their son, Chris Warford, and his wife, Pam, in memory of Bob and Joy.
