Maudie Cotten (Starling) Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Weston and Delene Cotten in memory of Weston’s mother, Maudie, who passed away in 2021 at 97 years old. She was born in Louisiana but was a Highlands resident for over 70 years. She was a devout member of her church and enjoyed spending time at Highlands’ Community Center where she served on the board and played banjo and sang in their Pick and Grin band. She lived a lifetime of pure love and joy. In addition to being a wife and mother of three boys, she worked as a full-time nurse. The scholarship is designated to a nursing student.
