Baytown Little Theater John Meiners, Jr. Memorial Scholarship for the Arts

John was a long-time active member of the Baytown Little Theater. He appeared in numerous shows over the years and served as a friend to many. An accomplished singer and actor, John was also a nationally recognized playwright, and had many of his creations produced all over the country. His proudest work is a play entitled Galveston Wind, which memorializes several of his family members who were impacted by the Great Hurricane of 1900. The play had its world premiere at the Baytown Little Theater and was produced again by the BLT in 2021. The production was invited to be a part of the 121st anniversary memorial in Galveston in September of 2021. John passed away shortly after.
